Philip G. Thompson has three decades of trial experience in the areas of personal injury (including auto negligence, medical malpractice, wrongful death, products liability, premises liability and defamation), workers compensation, Social Security Disability and general civil litigation matters. He has tried over 150 cases to verdict in various jury and non-jury matters.

Phil still has an active trial practice where he represents both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of administrative and general civil matters. In addition, Phil has been providing title and closing services as an agent for the Attorneys Title Fund since 2006. Phil is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator and a Florida Supreme Court Qualified Arbitrator.

When it comes to mediation, Phil’s mantra is pretty simple: Reasonable people do reasonable things. As Thomas Crum once said, “Resolving conflict is rarely about who is right. It is about acknowledgment and appreciation of differences”. When the parties can acknowledge and appreciate the views of their adversary, it is only then that they can act reasonably. Making this happen is Phil’s specialty. More often than not, mediation isn’t about finding a solution; it’s about identifying the problem. Once the problem is identified, the solution will present itself.
