Don is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Court Mediator and a Florida Supreme Court Qualified Arbitrator. He has also been a litigator and trial lawyer in the state of Florida for over 40 years. During that time he has represented plaintiffs and defendants including patients and healthcare providers in medical malpractice cases, litigating, and trying cases throughout the state of Florida.

As a trial attorney he is aware of the risks and uncertainties a trial brings and the benefits of mediation and a mediated settlement.

For most of his career, Don’s areas of concentration were medical malpractice and personal injury.

More recently, he has added subrogation litigation arising out of homeowners claims representing both plaintiff and defendant carriers.

As a young lawyer, I attended a meeting of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association and heard a talk by a prominent plaintiff’s attorney. The attorney spoke of the thread that binds litigators together. How no one other than another litigator truly understands what a litigator goes through in discovering, preparing, and trying a suit.

I believe that. I greatly respect what litigators do, the efforts litigators put into their cases, and their concern for their clients and the law. Even though we are adversaries, litigators should not and need not be enemies.

I bring those beliefs to my mediations. The lawyers on both sides and their clients are entitled to respect, courtesy and my best efforts to resolve their cases.
