Feb 2023 – The Honda Classic Volunteer

Mediator Philip Thompson has been a volunteer for The Honda Classic for 15 years. Every year Phil works the pro-am event starting on Wednesday and then the tournament rounds that run from Thursday – Sunday. He is an Advance Transition where he is assigned to a player for the entire round.

Over the years, some of the players that Phil has Marshaled for include Rory Mcllroy, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Justin Thomas, Jack Nicklaus, Sergio Garcia, Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, Rickie Fowler, Adam Scott, Tommy Fleetwood, Lee Westwood, Shane Lowery, Padraig Harrington, Billy Horschel, Ian Poulter, Justin Rose, Patrick Reed and more.

Phil says, “It is a lot of work, but as an avid golfer, I love it as I get to pull back the curtain and get real insight as to how the best players in the world approach every shot including their interactions and discussions with their caddies, as they go through their pre-shot routines. The level of detail and precision that these players exhibit on every single shot is truly incredible.”
